Installation
What are the system requirements for Captioneer?
Captioneer is compatible with Windows and MacOS machines running Adobe Premiere Pro 2022+.
How do I install Captioneer?

Editing
How does it work?
Captioneer pushes text and timing data from caption files (SRT, VTT, or CSV) to .mogrts.
.mogrts are fully customizable inside the Premiere Pro timeline, Essential Graphics window, and the Text tab.
Extra tools like Work Area, Track Selection, and Copy/Paste buttons help with the editing process.
How can I edit the caption timing?
Edit using Premiere Pro’s native Text panel or directly in the timeline. See Retiming Captions for a demonstration.
How can I edit the caption design?
Edit designs by selecting a .mogrt and opening the Essential Graphics Panel > Edit tab. Captioneer .mogrts are fully customizable for any font, color, position, scale, & more.
Can I create captions for multiple speakers?
Yes! Put each speaker on their own audio track (ex. Speaker 1 on A1, Speaker 2 on A2, etc.). Go to Premiere Pro's Text > Transcription Preferences and locate the "Audio on track" dropdown. Select "Audio 1" to transcribe track A1 with Speaker 1's audio. Export the SRT and label it Speaker 1. Repeat steps for "Audio 2" and Speaker 2. You now have separate captions files per speaker and use them with Captioneer.
Can I build my own .mogrts?
Yes! This is the most powerful feature. Any .mogrt that you export from After Effects can be used with Captioneer.
Where can I find more .mogrts for Captioneer?
New .mogrts are available in the Captioneer Store.
Order custom .mogrts with the Captioneer for Enterprise form.
Download .mogrts from Adobe Stock, Envato, MotionArray, etc. These platforms have thousands of .mogrts to choose from.
Purchases
How many licenses do I get?
Each license allows 1 active computer. For additional computers, purchase multiple Subscriptions or Lifetime licenses.
You can move licenses at any time locally or via the online License Manager.
Can I move my license between computers?
You can switch computers at any time. Go to Settings > Remove License to deactivate your license key, and then activate your key on the other computer.
You may also use the online License Manager.
I started with Subscription but I really like it. Can I switch to Lifetime?
Of course!
Purchase a Lifetime license
In the Captioneer Settings, hit "Remove License" to remove your Subscription license
Activate the Lifetime license in Captioneer
Cancel the old Subscription license via LemonSqueezy Customer Portal
Is there a student discount?

What is the refund policy?
30-day gurantee. If you purchased a license but Captioneer doesn't suit your needs, we're happy to refund you. Email support@captioneer.tv with your license key and we'll submit a refund request to LemonSqueezy.
Troubleshooting
Fonts in the MOGRTs aren't syncing.
A Yellow T symbol on the .mogrt thumbnail inside the Essential Graphics panel means the default .mogrt font is not synced to your computer.
All Captioneer MOGRTs use fonts from Adobe Fonts to trigger font auto-sync and allow manual syncing.
Go to Essential Graphics > Browse and drag the .mogrt onto the timeline. Auto-sync process will begin in Creative Cloud app.
Hit the "i" icon in bottom-right to see the name of the font. Go to fonts.adobe.com and manually sync the font.
My text isn't appearing.
Try switching fonts with the font dropdown inside the .mogrt. Make sure to pick fonts with characters for your chosen language (i.e Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, etc).
Captioneer is inserting MOGRTs or pasting settings slow.
Speeddepends on your specific hardware. It is fastest on M1+ Mac machines.
If you are experiencing difficulties, close panels in your workspace that are not in use.
The Essential Graphics > Browse tab is known to slowdown Premiere Pro. Select the Essential Graphics > Edit tab instead of the Browse tab.
Edit locally. All footage, .mogrts, project files, and cache files should be on SSD or NVME drives for the best performance.

Premiere playback stops working.
On Windows there is a bug that can temporarily pause playback after drag+drop of files. Click outside Premiere Pro (ex. onto your taskbar or Desktop) and then click back inside Premiere to resume normal playback.

International
Does Captioneer support international languages?
Yes! You can enter any language into Captioneer .mogrts. If you experience any issues with your chosen language, reach out to support@captioneer.tv.
Is Captioneer available in Japanese?
Yes! Captioneer and all 10 .mogrts have been localized for Japanese customers. It is available on Flashback JP.
Is there an international discount?
We offer a discount for customers outside the US, UK, and Canada. Send an email with your country details and we can hook you up with a coupon.
Other
Is it available for other editing software, like DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro?
No. Captioneer is exclusively for Premiere Pro because Motion Graphics Templates (.mogrts) are only available within the Adobe ecosystem.
Is there an Enterprise plan for business customers?
Yes. We offer Enterprise support for custom .mogrts, custom plugins, 1-on-1 onboarding, floating licenses, and team training. Fill out the Captioneer for Enterprise form for more information.
Enterprise teams can always purchase the publicly available version of Captioneer.
